Captain among two soldiers martyred in Waziristan gunbattle

Two Pakistan Army soldiers including a captain were martyred in a gunbattle with terrorists in Waziristan region.
According to a statement issued by the ISPR on Sunday, the terrorists fired shots at a patrolling party of the security forces, five kilometres southeast of Ghariom near the boundary-border of North and South Waziristan.
During the encounter with the terrorists, the security forces also killed a terrorist.
Captain Sabih and Sepoy Naveed embraced shahadat while two other soldiers got injured. Later during sanitization, a terrorists' compound was also cleared.
On June 12, a soldier was martyred when unidentified gunmen fired at the security forces in Mir Ali while an empty checkpost was blown up elsewhere in the district. Suspected militants opened fire on the security forces which they retaliated to but the attackers managed to escape. However, one soldier was martyred in the firing incident.
A day earlier on June 11, two Pakistan Army personnel were martyred and two others sustained injuries after their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device (IED) in North Waziristan area of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
