The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has decided to resume its passenger flight operation for Canada, a spokesperson said on Monday.

The national airline official said the Canadian authorities' directives to resume the service have been received and from June 22, PIA can take off to Canada directly.

The Canadian authorities have showed satisfaction with the SOPs enforced by the national airline chief, Air Marshal Arshad Malik, the PIA spokesman said.

In the first phase, the PIA will restart three flights a week and the full-fledged operation will be resumed in the second phase, he said, adding that the direct flights will be taking off from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad and the airline also restarted booking. Earlier, just cargo movement was allowed during the pandemic.
