ECP moved for disqualification of PTI senator Abdul Qadir

A petition was filed in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday, seeking disqualification of PTI Senator Abdul Qadir, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his petition, filed under the Election Act, 2017, Nazakat Abbasi Advocate of Aman Tarraqi Party argued that the senator did not meet the criterion laid down for a public office holder in articles 62 and 63 of the constitution. 

“Since Abdul Qadir has concealed details of his assets, therefore, the ECP is requested to declare him ineligible for the post and order reelection on the seat.  Reporter: Usman Khan
