Karachi is on a standstill with daily life activities on a complete halt on the first day of the three-day lockdown imposed by the Sindh government to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
According to 24NewsHD, the mega city, which already lacks public transport, limited service on Saturday.
All the important business centres – including Zaibunnisa Street, Saddar, Empress Market and Abdullah Haroon Road – are also closed.
Meanwhile, the Sindh police chief has also ordered action against the gathering of four or more people.
On the other hand, MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar praised the steps taken by the provincial government and urged the people to remain in isolation voluntarily.
About the worldwide pandemic, Sattar said China was able to overcome the challenge after imposing lockdown, but the things went out of control in Italy and France as they did not take the issue seriously.
