Amid the threat of coronavirus pandemic, the Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA) has announced that it would be mandatory for everyone using the Metro Bus service to wear masks from Tuesday onward.
According to a statement issued by the PMA on Saturday, no one would be allowed to board the Metro Bus without a mask. The passengers would be gradually made to strictly follow the directives during the next three days.
However, the PMA will not provide masks to the intending passengers.
Meanwhile, the PMA staff on Saturday started to implement the orders at the Shama Station while stopping the people from using the service, who didn’t have masks.
Praising the administration, the passengers welcomed the move, saying precautions were necessary. However, they said that the government must ensure the availability of masks, adding that the people would have to take responsibility to stop the spread of coronavirus.
