The Manga area of Mardan was in complete lockdown on the third consecutive day Saturday, as the residents were being screened for the coronavirus.

24NewsHD reported that the police and army personnel were on duty to execute the lockdown after taking control of the area, while Mardan had been closed for traffic from both sides of Charsadda.

As no is allowed to enter or leave the area, the locals had removed the barricades on Friday in an attempt to open the area, citing lack of basic necessities and the hardships being faced. However, they were dispersed and lockdown re-imposed after the arrival of the army.

Keeping in view this situation, a medical camp was established Saturday for serving the people.

On the other hand, Rescue 1122 and the Water and Sanitation Service Company Mardan carried out spray not only in the affected area but also in the city.

Meanwhile, all the people entering Mardan are also being screened.

Sadat Khan, a resident of Manga, had died because of the coronavirus on Wednesday, triggering the chain of events in his native village since then. He had recently travelled to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah.
