Punjab CM Buzdar issues stay-at-home order for two days
Directs two-day closure of shopping malls, public places
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Saturday issued orders for the people to stay at their homes during the next two days keeping in view the coronavirus spread.
Usman Buzdar also directed the closure of all the shopping malls and parks across Punjab for two days taking effect from Saturday night at 9 PM.
While clarifying that the measures do not amount to the lockdown, Usman Buzdar said “We will inform the people whenever we decide to do so.”
Appealing to the people to stay at homes, the CM said “Social distancing is the best possible way to keep the contagion away. So I request you to stay at homes and keep yourself and your families away from the coronavirus.”
The CM said that “All the people have to combat the deadly virus. It is for our own sake,” and shared the government’s decision of closing the shopping malls and the public places like parks for two days taking effect from 9PM tonight until 9AM on Tuesday.
