The Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE) has demanded of the government to extend its apology for levelling baseless and false allegations on media, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
CPNE President Kazim Khan said on Monday that the media organization would resort to the court regarding the government’s defamation law. Addressing directly to Prime Minister Imran Khan, the CPNE president said, “Are you aware of the punishment that was awarded to the slanderer in the Medina state. Nobody has ever abused freedom of expression more than Imran Khan. Why not we should submit an application against you under the PECA Ordinance,” he added.
He asked the premier to divulge the names of those media houses which were taking money from the national or international organizations.
“Do not provide only names of these media houses, bring evidence against them. Or else apologize to them,” he added.
