Two soldiers and three civilians embraced martyrdom in a terrorists’ gun attack in Bajaur district of KP, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
Four terrorists were killed when the army troops retaliated.
Naib Subedar lshtiaq (44-year-old resident of Nowshera) and Sepoy Kamran (21-year-old resident of Orakzai) embraced martyrdom when the terrorist launched the gun-battle in Bloro area of Bajaur. The martyred civilians were identified as Asmat, Ilham and Bahadur.
The security forces responded to the attack, killing four terrorists. The troops also seized arms and ammunition.
Earlier in the ongoing month, a suicide attack on a Peshawar worship place claimed 60 lives of worshipers. Terrorists strike left scores of worshipers injured in March 4 attack.
On March 9, a suicide bomber struck along the route of President Arif Alvi’s motorcade in Sibi, claiming the lives of six security personnel.
On March 2, a blast on Quetta's Fatima Jinnah Road left three people, including a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), dead.
On February 20, five terrorists were killed and a soldier martyred during an intense exchange of fire after security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan.
On February 7, a report stated five soldiers were martyred and four others suffered injuries when terrorists from across the Afghan border attacked a post in Kurram tribal district.
A leading newspaper reported that militants carried out 28 attacks across the country in December 2021 in which 36 people were killed, including 13 security forces personnel, while 47 people were injured, including 37 civilians.
In January, the militants carried out 24 attacks in which 42 people were killed – 22 security forces personnel,16 civilians and four militants – and 79 others were injured, including 62 civilians.
A total of 12 militant attacks in KP in which 15 people were killed, including five security forces personnel and nine civilians, while seven people were injured including four security forces personnel.
In Balochistan, militants carried out six attacks in which 17 people were killed — 14 security forces personnel and two civilians — while 32 people got injured of which 26 were civilians and six were security forces personnel.
