Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that today’s huddle of the country’s civil and military leadership for the resolution of the issues confronting the country was not only a good omen but was also a need of the hour, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing the meeting of the apex committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in Islamabad, the prime minister said that work on investment-related projects would be sped up.

He acknowledged the role of the SIFC in removing the obstacles in the way of attracting foreign investment to the country. “Truth of the matter is that the council is the reflection of the comprehensive strategy chalked out for the revival of the country’s economy,” PM Shehbaz said, and expressed the resolve to rid the country of all financial issues and crises.

The prime minister informed that the government had formed a plan under which the country’s real potential in different sectors such as agriculture, livestock, minerals, mining, information technology and energy would be tapped. “Under the plan, the purpose of the SIFC is to promote the concept of ‘one government’ or ‘the government of all’,” he elaborated.

PM Shehbaz told the meeting that one window facility had been introduced under the SIFC as an incentive for foreign investors.

Calling SIFC an important platform, the prime minister said that the government planned to go ahead with it.

He also praised the role of the country’s military leadership in the success of the SIFC and in attracting foreign investment to the country.

Army Chief General Asim Munir, chief ministers of all four provinces, federal ministers, and former caretaker prime minister were also present at the meeting.

Civil and military leadership, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugtim KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah are also in attendance.
