254pc more profit repatriated abroad during Feb 2025

An increase of 254 percent was recorded in repatriation of profits by foreign investors during the month of February 2025 as compared with the same period of 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to a report issued by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) during last eight month of current fiscal year an increase of 104 percent was witnessed in repatriation of profit by foreign investors.

Overall foreign investors repatriated $2303 million profit during the month of February while in February 2024 foreign investors remit $605 million profit.

During first eight month of current fiscal year 104 percent increase in profit was recorded. The foreign investors sent home $1.5 billion.

During previous fiscal year foreign investors earned $706 million profit. Economic experts said that due to insufficient foreign reserves, State Bank of Pakistan imposed some restrictions on dollar remittance.

The report further stated that communication sector gained top position in repatriation of profit in multi-national companies.

During the month of February 2025, the profit was increased by 370 percent to reach $707 million while in January 2024 investors sent home $16 million.
