Pakistan, China celebrate 69th anniversary of diplomatic ties

Iron brothers China and Pakistan are celebrating 69th anniversary of historic diplomatic relations on Thursday (today).
China Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing said in a video posted on the Chinese Embassy twitter account that, “Celebrating the 69th Anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations: We are iron brothers and working together for our well-being and development, as well as for the promotion of regional peace and development.”

He said, “China appreciates Pakistan for its kind understanding & support of our friendship & cooperation. We will promote the high-quality development of #CPEC and fight against #COVID_19, building a closer community of shared future. #chinapakistansolidarity.”

It is pertinent to note that Pakistan and China established their diplomatic relations on 21 May 1951 while the first high-level official delegation visited China just after three months of liberation, on the 4th of January 1950. In 1956, Pakistani Prime Minister Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy and Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai signing the Treaty of Friendship between China and Pakistan for closer bilateral ties.
