138 PTI leaders, workers arrested in Mardan 

Mardan police have claimed to have arrested 138 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers for their alleged involvement in May 9 attacks and damaging public property, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to the sources, the police accelerated the efforts to arrest those PTI activists who damaged national property. Their arrest is being made based on videos and geofencing. 

The lawmen have registered cases against the arrested workers under various sections. The police are not releasing FIRs to the media. 

The arrested persons were transferred to different jails. About 60 PTI activists have also been re-arrested after being released in 3 MPOs. 

The details of the burning in front of the Punjab Regiment Center, and damage to military statues, and government property have come to light.

On May 9, ten people including six police personnel were injured in violent riots for 8 hours. 

A case has been registered against 17 leaders of PTI, including former MNA and 3 former members of the provincial assembly. 

Former members include Mujahid Khan, Malik Shaukat, Zahir Shah Toru, and Iftikhar Mashwani in the FIR.

The case was filed against them on the complaint of SHO Moghaddam Khan under 19 sections including rebellion and terrorism.

Cases were filed against PTI district general secretary Ayaz Safi, Sher Bahadur, Umar Farooq, Saadat Tawani, Parvez Bacha, and other leaders.
