Eight passengers die as truck hits bus in Rahim Yar Khan

As many as eight passengers died and 26 received injuries when a Mazda truck collided with a passenger bus near Rahim Yar Khan on Wednesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to rescue sources, the accident occurred near the Motorway M-5 Iqbalabad Interchange, where a non-AC passenger bus collided with a Mazda truck loaded with mangoes. 
Four passengers died on the spot while Rescue sources said that the accident occurred due to the carelessness and inefficiency of the passenger bus driver, as he fell asleep.

Soon after the accident, the Rescue 1122 team reached the site and provided first-aid to 10 passengers on the spot who received minor injuries, while 16 other passengers were shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment.

Later four of the 16 injured passengers succumbed to their wounds at Shaikh Zayad Hospital.

Rescue sources said that they completed the operation while further investigation was underway.
