Pakistani mountaineer Dr Shela scales Kanchenjunga, third highest peak in Asia

Pakistani female mountaineer Dr Shela has scaled Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest peak in Asia. Kanchenjunga is the highest mountain in Nepal and Sikkim. It was first climbed on 25 May 1955. 

US-based Pakistani mountaineer Dr. Shehla Sheikh has successfully scaled the 8,586-meter Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest peak. Kanchenjunga is one of the most difficult peaks with its difficult routes, adverse weather conditions and the highest peak at 8,000 meters. 

Shehla Sheikh is a mountaineer, mother of four, and a medical professional. She began her mountaineering journey in July 2022. Dr. Shehla has previously completed the Keto Base Camp and Gundogoro La expeditions. 

Dr Shehla climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, in January 2023. Dr. Shahlaa successfully climbed Everest Base Camp and Lobuch East in May 2023. Dr. Shahlaa climbed Spontaneous in July 2023. 

Dr. Shahla trained on Mount Washington in March 2024. Dr. Shahla climbed three additional peaks in June 2024. Dr. Shahla had also climbed Bargancho Shotong and Bari La Peak. Dr. Shahla climbed Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America, in January 2025. Dr. Shahla is a graduate of the Army Medical College and resides in the United States. Dr. Shahla is working as an interventional nephrologist at Loyola Medical Hospital in Chicago.
