Govt eases requirement on mango exports to Iran and Central Asia via land route

The Federal Ministry of Commerce has granted a four-month exemption from the financial instrument requirement on mango exports to Iran and Central Asian states via land route. The exemption will be effective from June 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026, said a notification issued by the Ministry of Commerce. 

The decision aims to increase Pakistani mango exports and facilitate access to new markets, the Ministry of Commerce said. The financial instrument requirement under the State Bank's foreign exchange rules will not apply, the notification said. 

Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchants Association Patron-in-Chief Waheed Ahmed has hailed the initiative of the Ministry of Commerce. 

Waheed Ahmed said the decision will bring significant increase in Pakistani mango exports to Iran and Central Asian states. He said demand for Pakistani mangoes is likely to increase in Iranian market. Waheed Ahmed said the new decision will help balance possible shortage in Gulf markets.
