Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that the Opposition should refrain from playing with the lives of the people by holding rallies. This is not a time for politics or rallies, he said adding that Opposition rallies can lead to a Corona situation in Pakistan similar to that of the USA.

He was speaking a luncheon hosted by him and Provincial Information Advisor Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan in honor of deserving and needy children of ‘Child Protection Bureau’ in connection with “Shan-e-Rehmatul-Lil-Alameen Week” at Governor House on Saturday.

MPA Musarat Jamshed Cheema and Dr Shahid Siddique were also present on the occasion and the gifts sent by FIEDMC Chairman Mian Kashif Ashfaq were distributed among the children.

Ch Sarwar said that it has become the norm for the opposition to give priority to political and personal interests before any issue. The whole world is going for a lockdown because of Coronavirus. The opposition itself has been demanding lockdown but today when there is a spike in Corona, it is holding rallies. This is not in the interest of the country and the nation because the rallies will once again make Corona uncontrollable, he added.

Governor Punjab said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is still concerned about the common man. The Prime Minister has adopted the policy of smart lockdown and it has already yielded positive results and still inshallah this policy will be successful all over the world. The government has already given a national plan on Corona in the NCOC, which is everyone’s responsibility to implement.

He said that the solution to all the problems of the Muslims is in following the Holy Qur’an and following the path given by the Holy Prophet (PBUH).  Non-Muslims also learn from the Holy Qur’an. I have made it compulsory in all the universities of Punjab to study the Qur’an with translation.

Information Adviser Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that if the opposition held a rally in Punjab, the law would welcome them. Opposition should work for implementation of SOPs to prevent Corona instead of holding rallies.  Opposition brings politics in the interest of the state. Opposition has put people’s lives at stake. Corona is not differentiating between the opposition and the government but the opposition is refusing to hold rallies.

Dr Firdous said that the Child Protection Bureau is a blessing for the needy children. CPB is playing an important role in the education and training of children. Children are the hope and future of the nation. The state will be the guardian of deserving children, she added.
