Court reserves verdict on Ishaq Dar’s acquittal plea

An accountability court in Islamabad has reserved verdict in a plea filed by Finance Minister and senior PML-N leader Ishaq Dar for acquittal in a NAB reference pertaining to assets beyond means, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir reserved the verdict on Monday after hearing arguments from both the sides.
Earlier in the day, the court heard the case against Ishaq Dar and adjourned the hearing till 2pm today.
During the hearing, Dar’s lawyer Qazi Misbah completed his arguments in support of his client’s acquittal plea in the NAB reference.
However, the lawyer of another accused, ex-president of National Bank of Pakistan Saeed Ahmad, could not reach the court.
So, the court expecting Saeed’s lawyer to be in the court by noon announced an interval in the hearing till 2pm.
Dar’s lawyer Misbah and NAB Prosecutor Afzal Qureshi appeared before the court.
