Three-member SC bench to hear Wazirabad’s incident FIR case on November 23

The supreme court on Monday re-constituted a three-member bench that would hear the case of political interference in police transfers and the Wazirabad shooting incident, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial will hear the case on November 23. Justice Ayesha A. Malik and Justice Athar Minallah are other members of the bench.
The court has issued notice to other parties including IG Punjab and sought their response. The petitioner has challenged the political interference in the transfer and posting of the police officials.
Unhappy with the first information report (FIR) registered by the Punjab police against the murderous attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, the PTI moved the Supreme Court.
The PTI filed a petition at the Supreme Court’s Lahore registry seeking the constitution of a judicial commission over the FIR of the assassination attempt on the PTI Chairman in Wazirabad.
During the last hearing, IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar appeared in the Supreme Court Lahore Registry. The court had ordered the IG Punjab to file an FIR of the murder attack on Imran Khan and submit a report within 24 hours.
