Punjab CM Naqvi lays foundation of Gujranwala University
Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Tuesday laid the foundation of Gujranwala University, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, CM Naqvi and the Punjab Cabinet members visited the university site where he directed to complete the construction project as soon as possible.
Provincial Minister Azfar Ali Nasir prayed for the betterment of the institute.
Mohsin Naqvi instructed Provincial Education Minister Mansoor Qadir to monitor the construction project of the university personally.
“Inshallah classes will start in the university within a year” stated CM Naqvi.
While briefing, CM Punjab said that there is a dire need to establish a university for the people of Gujranwala to make higher education possible for the students of Gujranwala.
The university will cover 961 Kanals whereas, an estimated amount of more than 5 billion 61 crore 13 lakh will be needed for the University.
Secretary Higher Education, Secretary Construction, commissioner Gujranwala, Regional Police Offices (RPO), Deputy Commissioner, and other concerned officials were also present.
Furthermore, CM Naqvi also visited Quaid-e-Azam Public School, Gujranwala while the members of the provincial council, chief secretary, and IG Punjab are also with him.
According to the details, Mohsin Naqvi will inaugurate the Children's Hospital, Burn Unit, and visit the under-construction projects including Central Jail, Civil Hospital, and Saddar Police Station.
The Chief Minister will also preside over the meeting of the provincial council to be held at the commissioner's office.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi will also hold a media talk after inaugurating the Burn Unit at the Medical College.
Moreover, he also took notice of the rape incident of a 12-year-old special child in Rawalpindi.
He issued orders to take serious action against the accused.
“Justice should be ensured for the affected child”, said Mohsin Naqvi.
CM Naqvi asked for a report from RPO Rawalpindi.
