Pakistan Shaheens edge Sri Lanka A by 5 runs to enter Asia Cup Rising Stars final

Pakistan Shaheens stormed into the final of the Asia Cup Rising Stars after a nail-biting five-run victory over Sri Lanka A in the second semifinal at Doha, Qatar, on Friday.

The Shaheens displayed excellent teamwork and nerves of steel to defend a modest total of 153 runs and book their spot in the title clash.

Sri Lanka A had won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Pakistan Shaheens posted 153 for 9 in their 20 overs, courtesy of several valuable contributions.

Pakistan lost 5 wickets at the score of 60 only in 6.2 overs.

However, Ghazi Ghori led the innings with a responsible 39 not out, while his crucial 47-run partnership with Saad Masood (22) stabilized the innings.

Ahmed Daniyal smashed 22 runs, including three sixes, while Muaz Sadaqat added an aggressive 23.

Sri Lanka A’s bowling was dominated by Pramod Madushan, who grabbed 4 wickets, and Travin Mathew, who took 3.

Chasing 154, Sri Lanka A fought fiercely but fell short, finishing at 148 for 9.

Milan Rathnayake top-scored with 40 runs, followed by Vishen Halmabâge, who made 29.

Pakistan Shaheens’ bowlers rose to the occasion in a tense finish.

Sufiyan Muqeem delivered a match-winning spell, taking 3 wickets for just 13 runs, while Saad Masood claimed 3 for 18.

Ahmed Daniyal, Ubaid Shah, and Shahid Aziz chipped in with a wicket each.

With this victory, Pakistan Shaheens have earned a place in the Rising Stars Asia Cup final, where they will face Bangladesh A on Sunday.

Bangladesh A entered the final after defeating India A in a dramatic Super Over in the first semifinal.

Pakistan Shaheens reached the knockout stage after an impressive group campaign, winning all three of their matches against Oman, India A and UAE.
