Former president Asif Ali Zardari phoned JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday and thanked him for playing his part in keeping opposition parties’ alliance intact in a difficult time.

They talked about the situation in wake of the arrest of Safdar, son-in-law of ex-PM Nawaz Sharif, in Karachi where the opposition held the second event of its ongoing anti-government campaign, Pakistan Democratic Movement.

The ex-president also expressed his gratitude to the JUI-F chief for standing by the PPP in such a critical situation.  Fazl assured Zardari of continuing playing his part for the cause and said the issue of the Sindh police would also be taken up.
