Miley Cyrus reinvents herself for Vogue France
Miley Cyrus has proven her ability to reinvent herself, gracing the November issue of Vogue France with a dramatic new look that left fans doing a double take.
The Flowers hitmaker appeared nearly unrecognizable with short, curly platinum blonde hair, heavy eyeliner, and glossy lips, channeling a 1960s Hollywood bombshell for the shoot captured by legendary photographer Mario Sorrenti.
But fans later learned the transformation was all in fun. Cyrus was actually wearing a wig styled by Shay Ashual for the Parisian-themed editorial.
“That ain’t the Miley I know,” one fan wrote, while another praised her daring look as “Annie meets Moulin Rouge.”
Styled in couture pieces by Balenciaga and Maison Valentino, Cyrus posed at the iconic Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, radiating confidence and glamor.
“I’ve always been who I wanted to be,” the daughter of country legend Billy Ray Cyrus told Vogue France. “It’s by staying true to who you are that you can stand out from the crowd.”
Reflecting on her personal and artistic evolution, the Grammy winner said,
“The last five years have been pivotal. Since 2021, I’ve kept evolving — but without struggle. I decided to stop being stubborn and to let fate take its course.”
The Wrecking Ball star, who was previously married to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, credited her mother Tish Cyrus as her biggest musical inspiration.
“When I write, I always think of her, and she’s the first person I play my songs for. We’re each other’s muse in a way.”
In the feature, Cyrus also opened up about the iconic women of rock who shaped her creative vision — including Stevie Nicks and Joan Jett — and shared a heartfelt story about Beyoncé, with whom she performed II Most Wanted at the Stade de France in June.
“Beyoncé is definitely the best, period,” Cyrus said. “She gave me a bracelet that I never take off… and trust me, I know how to use it when I need to. If someone tells me I was wrong, I say, ‘It doesn’t matter — Beyoncé gave me this bracelet!’”
The singer’s bold new look and candid reflections have been widely praised by fans, who see the shoot as another confident reinvention in Miley’s ever-evolving career.
Vogue France’s November 2025 issue featuring Miley Cyrus hits newsstands October 23.
