Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday threw out the Narowal Sports City reference against senior PML-N leader and Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing of the case, Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah said: “This court will not resort to the ordinances of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The authority of the NAB is limited to corruption. Where is corruption in this case?”
He added: “There are many decisions that can be wrong. Loss also happens, but that is not corruption. Ahsan Iqbal was kept in jail by the NAB for so long. His reputation was tarnished. But where is the corruption?”

“How can this law survive under the previous one? If the NAB has made a wrong case against someone, what forum does it have for doing that? The NAB makes wrong cases, and when they are proved wrong, then it has nothing to say,” the IHC chief justice remarked.
“The NAB had been given so much time only to come up with evidence of corruption, even if it has a fraction of it,” Athar Minallah said.
“This court had written in the bail order of Finance Minister Miftah Ismail how bad the investigation is,” he added.

Talking to the media men after the court decision in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal said that he had been implicated in false cases by the NAB.
He also came down hard on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying that they must have lost their minds after the dismissal of the corruption reference by the IHC.
