September 21, 2022 09:27 PM

Following the hike in raw milk price, tetra pack milk companies have raised the essential commodity cost by Rs20 per litre, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

The price of tetra milk reached up to two hundred and twenty rupees per litre. While the milk is getting beyond the reach of common persons, the wholesalers are of the view that they are finding it difficult to sell it at exuberant rates.

Raw milk is being sold at up to Rs190 per litre and people have already been making a litany of complaints about the shortage of milk in the open market.

Profiteers have been cashing in on the situation while people made an appeal to authorities to look into the matter.

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics has projected the inflation rate on an annual basis at 42.70%.
