Police Inspector dismissed from service over backing crime in Sukkur 

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) in charge of Sukkur has been dismissed from service over proven serious allegations of sponsoring crimes, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Inspector Shamshad Ali Pathan was dismissed from his job after the completion of an inquiry and proven allegations of promoting gambling, drugs, Iranian oil smuggling and prostitution.

By accepting huge bribes, he facilitated illegal activities. It was also revealed that he received heavy bribes in exchange for the release of arrested suspects.

The dismissed inspector demanded a Rs 1.2 million bribe for the release of Badr Tighani and on allegations of supporting a criminal network in the SSP House, Sukkur.

Allegations of receiving monthly extortion from criminal networks were also proved against him.

Allegations were proven against him in the investigation report of DIG Crime Branch Sindh Karachi.

A final order was issued after the investigation and taking departmental action.

A case was registered against citizen for offering bribe to DSP Circle Pattoki

Meanwhile, police have registered a case against a citizen for offering a bribe to DSP Circle Pattoki.

According to a police spokesperson, a person named Rashid tried to bribe DSP Circle Pattoki Rana Sajjad Akbar with Rs200,000. 

A police spokesperson said a case has been registered against the accused in the city police station on the complaint of the DSP, and the accused was taken into custody.

The accused, named Rashid, is a resident of the Thathi Avtar area, a police spokesperson said.

According to the text of the FIR, in exchange for a bribe of Rs200,000, a police inquiry should be written in favour of his arrested son. 

The accused came to the DSP office and said that his son was arrested in Phoolnagar police station Sadar. 

A case has been registered against his son Parvez, who is on remand till September 22.
