CM Murad inaugurates 49 digital classrooms and 20 satellite schools in Sindh

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday inaugurated 49 modern digital classrooms and 20 satellite schools for special children across the province, along with a sign language teacher training programme, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a ceremony organised by the Special Education Department, the chief minister said providing quality education to every child is the commitment of the provincial government. He said modern technology will improve the learning experience of special children.

The digital classrooms are equipped with smart boards, e-learning tools and other modern educational facilities. Shah said the classrooms will help children move confidently in the digital world.

He noted that infrastructure and technology alone are not enough, as real progress depends on the people who use them. He said the sign language teacher training programme is being launched alongside the digital initiatives.

The training programme has been started in collaboration with Deaf Reach and FESF. It will enhance the professional skills of teachers.

The chief minister said the Sindh government is committed to the welfare, education and rehabilitation of special children. 

Around 20,000 students are enrolled in 67 special institutions across the province, where several basic facilities are provided free of cost.

Special children receive free education, rehabilitation, physiotherapy and speech therapy. Free transport and nutritious meals are also provided. Students enrolled in these institutions receive a monthly stipend of Rs3,000.
