Mir Raza commission summons ASP Nida, issues written order

The Mir Raza Commission has issued its written order for Monday’s proceedings, adjourning the hearing until Tuesday and summoning ASP Nida for further questioning, reported24NewsHD TV.

During his statement, Ali Shahz had mentioned ASP Nida and had also sent her a voice message.

The commission also directed Ahmed Bharde to meet Mir Raza’s family after he stated on social media that he had much to say about the case.

According to the written order, Mir Raza’s family told the commission that Ahmed Bharde did not share any new information during the meeting. The commission observed that he had no new information to provide.

The commission further observed that his statements could potentially affect or disrupt the proceedings and warned him to refrain from making such statements.

Meanwhile, the commission received an email complaint from Mir Raza’s fiancée regarding the alleged leaking of chats from his phone.

The commission noted that the investigative team had taken the fiancée’s phone into custody and said the team’s head, Siraj Lashari, would be questioned about the reason for taking possession of the device.

The commission also rejected the Dr Usama request seeking permission to record a further statement.

In response to a question from the commission, Dr Usama clarified that he did not want to claim that Mir Raza had died by suicide.

According to the order, Dr Usama maintained that Mir Raza’s death was a murder and he wanted assurance that the bullet had struck Mir Raza from the front.

The commission questioned whether his request to record another statement was aimed at placing responsibility on the police surgeon and the chief minister.

The commission made it clear that Dr Usama would not be allowed to record another statement.

During his statement, Ahmed Hassan also submitted a copy of an agreement between himself and the owners of Waflix. According to his statement, he had invested Rs3 million in the venture.

For Tuesday’s proceedings, the commission has summoned ASP Nida along with Faizur Rehman, Asif, Abid and Sarim bin Tahir.
