The United States government has launched a four-year project worth $23.5 million to improve Pakistan’s power sector under USAID programme, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
“The project aims at tackling the effects of climate change in Pakistan and increasing energy production through transparent resources,” said Julie A. Quinn, USAID Pakistan Mission Director.
“The United States looks forward to working with Pakistan to build the power generation sector in a transparent, efficient, and sustainable way in the future,” she stated.
“Through this project, USAID will support the Government of Pakistan’s efforts to establish a truly competitive wholesale power market in the country,” she added.
