Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated with religious fervor across country

President urges countrymen not to turn religious, political differences into hatred

Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated across the country today (Saturday) with religious zeal and fervor, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Big Eid congregations were held at open places, mosques and Eidgahs in all major cities and towns.

The Ulema in their sermons highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

In the Federal capital, the main Eid congregation was held at the Faisal Mosque where President Dr Arif Alvi, top government officials and envoys of Muslim countries offered Eid prayers.

The president mixed up with the people at the mosque and exchanged Eid greetings.

The president specially prayed for the salvation of the people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir from the Indian suppression and atrocities.

Earlier, in his message to the countrymen, the president appealed to the countrymen not to allow their sectarian, religious, and political differences to become a source of strife and hatred.

He said that in order to get out of the current situation facing the country, the people needed to inculcate the habit of forgiving and follow the teachings of Allah and the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

He also urged the countrymen to play their part in moving the country toward political and economic stability.

He said while Ramazan creates piety in us, it also makes us realise the sufferings, hunger and distress of others.

“This realization can be the basis for eradicating poverty and injustice from any society. We should make a pledge on this occasion of Eid that we will carry these qualities of piety, and realisation with us throughout the year and play our role in making society prosperous,” the president remarked.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered the prayer of Eid-ul-Fitr in Lahore and prayed for peace and prosperity of the country.

The prime minister mixed up with the people at the mosque and exchanged Eid greetings with them.

The prime minister particularly prayed for the salvation of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, and for the rehabilitation of the quake-hit people of Turkiye and Syria.

Foreign Minister and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah offered their Eid prayers in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. 

While former president and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari offered Eid prayers in Nawabshah. He paid his respects at the mausoleums of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and other martyrs and offered Fateha. 

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi said his Eid prayers in Gulberg, Lahore. After saying prayers, he mixed up with people and exchanged Eid greetings. 

In Karachi, the congregations of Eid prayers were held all over the city in mosques, Eidgahs and imambargahs.

The main Eid congregation was held at Gulshan-e-Jinnah while other large congregations of Eid prayers were held at Eidgah Nazimabad, Nishtar Park, T-Ground and Daar-ul-Uloom Karachi.

Sindh government has made stringent security arrangements on the occasion.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali and Caretaker Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan offered Eid prayers at Governor House, Peshawar and greet Eid to the public on 1st and 2nd day of Eid at the Governor House.

In Peshawar, the main congregation was held at Eidgah Charsadda road, Peshawar.

The government has taken tight security measures to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the province on the occasion of Eid.

Like the rest of the country, Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in Balochistan with religious fervour and zeal.

In Quetta, more than 200 Eid prayer’s congregations were held at open places, parks, Masajid, Imambargahs and EidGah while the main congregation held at Eidgah Toghi Road.

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Justice Nahim Akhtar offered Eid prayers at Governor House in Quetta.

Foolproof security arrangements have been made on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr across the province.

PDM and JUI Chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman offered Eid prayers at his native town Dera Ismail Khan. 

Senator Maulana Ghafoor Haideri offered Eid prayers in Holy Madina and federal minister Talha Mehmood offer prayers in Holy Makkah.
