Bid to smuggle large cache of weapons from Afghanistan to Pakistan foiled

Frontier Corps (FC) North and Pakistan Customs, in their joint operation at Torkham border crossing on Monday, foiled a bid to smuggle a large cache of weapons from Afghanistan to Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

According to details, when the personnel checked two vehicles carrying goods, they recovered three M-16 rifles, two pistols, 4,000 rounds, eight bolts and 40 springs of AK-47 besides five pistol magazines, 8,000 rounds of a 9mm pistol, and one pistol without a barrel.  

Later, the FC North handed over drivers of the vehicles as well as the weapons recovered to the Customs officials for further action.

On the other hand, the spokesman for the FC North has expressed the resolve to continue to crackdown on the smugglers of weapons
