The British royal family has marked the 100th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II with a commemorative reception held at Buckingham Palace, celebrating her life and enduring legacy, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, King Charles III visited an exhibition at the palace dedicated to his late mother’s fashion and personal style, which formed part of the centenary tribute events. 

The exhibition showcased items associated with the Queen’s public life and long reign.

Queen Elizabeth II remains Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, having served the country for seven decades. 

She was widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in modern British history.

The late Queen was born on 21 April 1926 and ascended to the throne in 1952. 

She continued to serve as monarch for 70 years before passing away in September 2022 at the age of 96.

The commemorative event at Buckingham Palace reflects the continued respect and admiration for her role in British history and her lasting impact on the monarchy.
