Punjab schools will receive the non-salary budget in future on a base of their performance, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
A separate budget will be allocated to schools for furniture, part-time coaches and construction.
The deduction will be made in the non-salary budget for poor performance and declining enrolment while an additional budget will be granted to hire/ recruit part-time teachers over excellent performance.
A 14% budget will be allocated for the construction of dilapidated classrooms and to construct more classrooms whereas 20% additional budget will be allocated for increased enrollment.
Schools in villages and remote areas will get an additional 9% budget.
Moreover, the additional budget will be transferred to the accounts of competent authorities that will be utilized with the approval of school authorities and it will also be audited every year.
The formula to disburse budgetary allocation depends upon the number of enrolled students in a school.
PASS Punjab President Rana Atta Muhammad said in an interview that an additional budget is a welcoming step for the future because the existing NSB budget was used to spend on paying electricity bills.
