Jhelum professor freed after payment of Rs4m ransom

A professor of government college in Jhelum has been abducted for ransom from Kachhari Road and was later freed after the money exchanged hands, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to sources, the professor was recovered after paying Rs4 million ransom.

Sources said that five accused were taken into custody from different areas and shifted to an unknown location. 

According to the text of FIR, the kidnappers abducted Professor Ibrahim from outside the Tuition Academy on August 12. 

Armed suspects pretended to be FIA ​​officials, put the abductee in a car and took him to Rawat.

The ringleader of the kidnappers, former police officer's son Sibat Shah, was also a former student of the abductee.

Kidnappers took the abductee to a deserted house and made him contact his family for ransom.

Former police officer's son Sibat Shah demanded a ransom of Rs10 million from the abductee's family. 

After taking a ransom of Rs4 million on August 13, the kidnappers left the abductee near the Rawat bus stand. 

All the matters of the ransom were settled by the son of a former police officer, Sibat Shah.

Professor Ibrahim said after the recovery, death threats were being received of they reported the matter to police. 

Police said raids are underway to arrest the main accused, Sibat Shah, and other unknown suspects.

After the arrest of all the suspects and the recovery of the ransom money, the media will be informed.
