SC’s Review Board for provision of better food, medical facilities to foreign prisoners

The Review Board of the Supreme Court (SC) on Saturday directed that foreigners imprisoned in Pakistani jails be treated humanely and that they be provided better food and medical facilities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The Board, which met with Justice Shahid Waheed in the chair, reviewed the steps taken by the government to deport these prisoners as well as to ensure their medical treatment. 

As many as 31 foreigners, facing charges of crossing the border illegally and smuggling, were produced before the Board.

They belonged to different countries, including India, Bangladesh and Tanzania.
