PPP senior leader Nisar Khuhro again reached the Sindh High Court for pre-arrest bail, saying the NAB wanted to arrest him on the basis of ill-intentions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel o Tuesday.
Nisar Khuhro made the move after the NAB issued a call-up notice to him.
Nisar Khuhro, who is the party’s provincial president, had first obtained interim bail from the Sind High Court after the NAB issued notices to him in connection with inquiries pertaining to the release of wheat stock against unsecured guarantees and money-laundering charges.
The inquiry into the wheat affairs relates to the period 2013-18 when he had served as the Sindh food minister first under Qaim Ali Shah and later in the cabinet of Murad Ali Shah.
It was in May this year that NAB had reopened the inquiry into alleged corruption in the food department as it is claimed that wheat worth Rs10 billion went missing from different government godowns.
Talking to 24NewsHD, the PPP leader discussed the latest political issues and said the federal government had disappointed everyone and getting rid of that was the best thing to do.
“We are democratic people, the federal government is used to spreading disinformation,” he said. “Senate elections too would be held if there are assemblies,” he added.
