Iranian Ambassador Syed Mohammad Ali Hosseini called on Federal Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal at the latter’s office Tuesday.

Steps to cement the Pak-Iran ties came under discussion during the meeting held a couple of days after the opening of Gabd Ramdan crossing point at Pak-Iran border in Gawadar.

The Iranian envoy praised the minister’s efforts to open the crossing. Zubaida shed light on the importance of the opening of the crossing to strengthen the bilateral bond.

She said: “We have a strong resolve to cement ties. The opening of crossing is an important step in this regard.

“It will encourage legal trade and business activities and discourage smuggling and other such illegal businesses. It will bring the people of both countries close to each other.”

The minister said Pishin and four other points have also been identified and these points will be opened soon.
