All set for Lahore Center Point to DHA signal-free project, Rs2.8b approved

Punjab government approved funds of Rs2.8 billion for Signal Free Corridor project from Center Point to Defense in Lahore city on Wednesday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the project was prepared by the Lahore Development Authority that was also approved by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
Under this project, a one-way flyover will be constructed at the Ghora Chowk Cavalry and an underpass at Khalid Butt Chowk.
Initial planning will provide signal-free movement of traffic from Gulberg to Defense throughout the corridor.
As per the plan, a four-lane dual carriageway with a two-way underpass will be constructed at Khalid Butt Chowk.
While a three-lane single-sided flyover will be constructed at Ghoda Chowk from Cavalry Ground towards Defense turn.
According to the plan, Rs800 million will be spent on making new u-terns at Center Point and remodelling of the Defense Morr (turn) and Walton Road.
To release funds for the project, the Punjab Chief Minister directed the Standing Cabinet Committee on Finance to include it in the annual development program.
On this, the Standing Cabinet Committee on Finance has approved to include a budget of Rs2.80 billion for the project in the annual development program of the current financial year.
