PHC orders ECP to give verdict in PTI’s intra-party polls case tomorrow

Pronouncing a reserved verdict, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to give decision in the case of PTI’s intra-party elections by tomorrow (December 22) in accordance with the law, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

A two-member bench of the PHC, comprising Justice Atiq Shah and Justice Shakeel Ahmad, heard the case.

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) had on Tuesday stopped the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from giving a decision on the petitions challenging the PTI’s intra-party elections until December 21.

A two-member bench, comprising Justice SM Atiq Shah and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah, heard the writ petition.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Syed Sikandar Hayat Shah Advocate, Naumaul Haq Kakakhel, Shah Faisal Uthmankhel represented the PTI in the court.

Mohsin Kamran Siddiqui appeared on behalf of the ECP.
