Who will be the next inspector general of Sindh Police? Three senior officers' names shortlisted

The process to appoint a new inspector general of Sindh Police has entered a decisive phase, with three senior police officers shortlisted for the top position.

According to available information, the names under consideration are Javed Alam Odho, Amir Sheikh and Azad Khan. Deliberations have begun at the relevant levels to finalize the appointment.

Grade-21 police officer Javed Alam Odho is currently serving as the Karachi police chief. Amir Sheikh is also among the prominent contenders, having previously served as Karachi police chief as well as inspector general of police in Azad Kashmir.

Another experienced officer in the race is Azad Khan, who is presently posted as additional inspector general of the Counter-Terrorism Department. His name is also being actively considered for the role of Sindh Police inspector general.

The new appointment is expected as the current Sindh Police IG, Ghulam Nabi Memon, is set to retire on December 31 after completing his term. The decision regarding his successor is anticipated in the coming days.
