A 14-year-old daughter was brutally killed by her father for 'honour' in Aimanabad area of Gujranwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.  

Police arrested the victim's father immediately on suspicion.

Gujranwala Police said the accused pleaded guilty to his crime and said he killed his daughter on suspicion of ‘misconduct’. “Brutal killer will be severely punished according to the law”, the police said.

Reportedly, 2,297 cases of violence against women (VAW) were reported in 25 districts of Pakistan in 2020. The statistics were part of the report titled ‘Violence against women and girls in the time of COVID 19 Pandemic’ launched by Aurat Foundation in collaboration with SAP-PK.
