Pakistan reports 1,160 new coronavirus cases with 16 deaths
Pakistan reported 1,160 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.
There were 16 more causalities related to the deadly disease as the death toll due to coronavirus has reached 12,617 that represents a ratio of 2.2%.
According to the latest figures, 1,160 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 32,313 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 572,334 that returned positive after conducting 8,718,555 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country is 24,226 with 1,605 patients in critical condition. There are 247 patients on ventilators in the country.
There were 1,384 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 535,491 with a 93.6% recovery rate.
Punjab, the most populous province in the country, has reported 474 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 167,819 with 6,979 active cases. In Punjab, 4 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 5,208. With 737 new recoveries, 155,632 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
The most affected province Sindh has recorded 386 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 256,220 with 12,817 active cases. In Sindh, 4 more patients died of the deadly disease as the death toll reached 4,292. With 319 new recoveries, 239,111 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 157 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 71,043 with 2,122 active cases. The province reported 4 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 2,036. With 200 new recoveries, 66,885 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan has recorded another 9 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 18,988 with 81 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remained at 199. With 11 new recoveries, 18,708 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad has recorded 83 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 43,485 with 1,630 active cases. With 4 new deaths reported in the Federal Capital, the virus death toll reached 492. With 84 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 41,363 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 51 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 9,828 with 569 active cases. With no new death reported, the death toll remains at 288. There were 33 new recoveries in the AJK as 8,971 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded no new case during the last 24 hours, as the tally remains at 4,951 with 28 active cases. No new death reported in the province and the death toll remains at 102. There were also no new recovery reported as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,821.
