Caretaker cabinet to discuss power transfer to new govt
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has convened the federal cabinet meeting today to discuss the country’s economic, security and political situation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Quoting its sources, the channel reported that matters relating to the formation of the new government and the transfer of power from the caretaker government to the elected one would come under discussion at the meeting.
Similarly, they informed that a report on the reservations shown by different political parties over the fairness of the general elections would also be presented at the meeting.
Already ratified gas prices will also come under discussion at the meeting, sources said.
Apart from that, besides approving the appointment of the federal inspector of drugs, the meeting will also determine his domain under the Drug Regulatory Authority.
The meeting will also okay extension in the service of the DG Financial Monitoring Unit by one year.
Likewise, a summary of amendments to the Petroleum Division Explosive Rules, 2010 will also be presented at the meeting for approval.
The cabinet will also endorse the decisions taken at the Economic Coordination Committee meeting.
Similarly, the cabinet will also okay the decisions taken by the energy committee.
The meeting will also approve awarding ‘Turkiye Armed Forces Legion of Merit’ to Army Chief General Asim Munir.
