Punjab Governor Chaudhary Sarwar Saturday said it was people who have failed not the political system of Pakistan, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

Talking to Director News and Bureau Chiefs of various TV channels at Governor House, he said if Pakistan had lost GSP-Plus status then it could have faced serious problems.

He said the system never fails instead the people fail.

He claimed that according to his sources army chief doesn’t want another extension and if the party consults him, he would give his opinion in this regard.

He said due to GSP-Plus Status, Pakistan is reaping benefits worth millions of dollars.

“I had been to the UK for lobbying for GSP-Plus Status and will continue to do so. Pakistan has the GSP Plus Status till 2023 and it will be extended as well.”

He said there are numerous problems in Pakistan that need to be solved and all the political parties will have to work together to revive the economy.

He said he was used to collecting 200,000 pounds for the party. He said it is inevitable to counter the strong Indian lobby to save Pakistan’s interests.

Ch Sarwar said without rectifying the investigation system in the country, nothing could have been improved.

He said when a state loses its writ and people get stronger than the state then the country suffers.

He said he had already told the party about defeat in Cantonment Board elections and Khanewal by-elections. He said PPP was damaging the PTI’s vote bank in Punjab.

He said his differences with Shehbaz Sharif over clean water led to a quarrel and if he had not quarrelled with Shehbaz maybe he would still have been in the PML-N.

He said Parvez Musharraf did not want Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif to go to the UK and it was he who arranged visas for both brothers.

He claimed that he played a role in getting elected three prime ministers of Pakistan. He said he played role in helping Benazir Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan to become Pakistan’s prime minister and Europe also acknowledged his political wisdom.

Punjab governor said to bring a change there is a need for ample time and said their government should be given another five years tenure to bring the change.

Ch Sarwar said there is no democracy in any political party of Pakistan.

He said people say that I speak the truth in the UK but I don’t tell lies in Pakistan as well.
