Tourists got stuck due to heavy snowfall in Galiyat Abbottabad, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.

More than a foot of snow was reported. Abbottabad Murree Road road was blocked, leaving dozens of tourist vehicles stuck.

Backed by police, the local admin started clearing the road. Severe cold weather and rain and snow are expected in Murree, Galiyat and surrounding areas, said the weather experts.

According to the Met Office, rain with thunder and snowfall is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and Upper Punjab.

Light rain and drizzle are likely in Islamabad on Sunday and  Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Drosh, Balakot, Swat, Malakand, and Haripur will experience light rain and snowfall over mountains.

Weather will remain cold and dry in most parts of Punjab. Light rain is forecast in Attock, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi.

The plains of Punjab are likely to experience fog in the morning hours, the Meteorological Department said, adding that weather will remain very cold and dry in most districts of Balochistan and weather is likely to remain cold and dry in Sindh.
