Another Narowal girl attempts suicide by jumping from college building
A female student of a private college in Narowal allegedly jumped from the third floor of building in an attempt to commit suicide on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The student was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition, from where she was referred to Lahore as her condition became more serious.
The student was identified as 20-year-old Maryam.
When the college administration was asked about the situation, they told that the student had reached the institution around 8:00 am, even before the college time and took this extreme step at around 8:15 am.
They said that the girl belongs to a village near Nonar and the reason for the suicide attempt was appeared to be a domestic matter.
Earlier this month, a first-semester pharmacy student had sustained injuries after she jumped from the second floor at the University of Lahore.
Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran told media men that the student was originally from Narowal. “She jumped from the second floor of the pharmacy department,” the DIG said, adding that for now, the incident appeared to be “a suicide attempt”.
The official further stated that the student’s legs had been fractured, and she had been hospitalised. “Her condition is serious, but there is no severe head injury,” DIG Kamran added.
