President Zardari approves appointment, extension of high court judges

President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the appointment and extension of service of additional judges in the Sindh, Lahore and Peshawar High Courts, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

According to the channel report, the president approved the permanent appointment of ten judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC).

The president has also extended the tenure of two additional judges of the Sindh High Court for a period of six months.

President Zardari approved the confirmation of eleven additional judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC).

In addition, the tenure of the Lahore High Court judge, Justice Tariq Mahmood Bajwa, has also been extended for another six months.

In the case of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), approval was granted for the permanent appointment of six additional judges.

The president also extended the service of four additional judges for a further six months.

The channel reported that all these approvals were granted by the president on the advice of the prime minister.
