No parallel or fake association will be tolerated in the province: Sindh Secretary for Sports 

A delegation of hockey Olympians, led by Member National Assembly and President Sindh Hockey Women’s Wing Syeda Shiela Raza, met with Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs Munawar Ali Mahesar.

The meeting was attended by Olympians Hanif Khan, Iftikhar Syed, Nasir Ali, Farhat Khan, Waseem Feroze, Secretary Sindh Hockey Association Akbar Qaimkhani, President KHA Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah, former Secretary KHA Haider Hussain, Chairman Gulfraz Khan, and Director Sports Sindh Dr. Asad.

On this occasion, Syeda Shiela Raza expressed her concern over the existence of a fake association in the province. She said the Sindh Hockey Association, under the vision of its President Barrister Murtaza Wahab, is working day and night for the revival of hockey.

As a result, after 20 years, Sindh’s team succeeded in reaching the top 8 in the National Championship. Moreover, in the First Chief of Army Staff Inter-District Hockey Tournament, which included 752 clubs from across the country, Youth Club District Malir secured second position.

President Sindh Hockey Women’s Wing Syeda Shiela Raza, expressing her concern, said that how can a person who has been banned for ten years by the Sindh government and Sindh Olympic Association for forming a fake association organise a hockey event in the province?

While talking to the delegation, Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs Munawar Ali Mahesar said that no parallel or fake association will be tolerated in any case, as those who do so are, in fact, enemies of sports and athletes. The Sindh government is committed to making the province a hub for sports.

The National Games scheduled for December are part of this effort. Sindh is leading in the development of sports infrastructure. The excellent performance of Sindh’s athletes in the Quaid-e-Azam Games and other sports events is on record. This is why the Sports Department has prepared an annual calendar for organizing sports events.

To promote the national sport, the Sports Department stands with the Sindh Hockey Association and KHA. Very soon, he will visit the KHA Sports Complex and all ongoing development projects in the province. The role of KHA and SHA in the development of hockey in the province is clear.
