Pakistan’s new high commissioner to UK presents credentials in London

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Tipu Usman, on Tuesday presented his Letters of Appointment to the Vice Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps, Scott Furssedonn-Wood, during a ceremony held at Lancaster House in London, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, during the meeting, High Commissioner Tipu Usman conveyed the good wishes of Pakistan’s leadership and people to the leadership and people of the United Kingdom. 

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with its British counterparts to further strengthen the long-standing and wide-ranging bilateral relationship between the two countries.

Tipu Usman assumed charge as Pakistan’s high commissioner to the United Kingdom on 20 July 2026. A senior career diplomat in Pakistan’s Foreign Service, he brings extensive experience in both bilateral and multilateral diplomacy.

Before taking up his current assignment, he served as the Chief of State Protocol in Islamabad. During his diplomatic career, he has also served as Deputy Head of Mission in Riyadh, Counsellor at Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, First Secretary in Ankara, and Vice Consul in Vancouver, Canada.

The appointment marks the beginning of his tenure in London, where he is expected to focus on enhancing diplomatic engagement and expanding cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom across a range of sectors.
