Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi Tuesday called on former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

Both the leaders discussed the overall political situation of the country and also discussed political matters related to the politics in Punjab.

Both the leaders agreed on the independence of the judiciary and respect for the judiciary.

They agreed that all the judges including the Chief Justice of Pakistan should be respected and no one should be allowed to disrespect them.

They said the independent judiciary and the democracy were indispensable for each other and respectin the judiciary is a part of the judiciary.

Zardari also inquired after from Ch Parvez Elahi regarding the health of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) president Ch Shujaat Hussain and also delivered a special message for Ch Shujaat.

Speaker Punjab Assembly said he visited the former president to especially thank him for his cooperation during the senate elections in Punjab in which all the candidates were elected unopposed.

He said he wanted to visit Zardari in Karachi but the former president had asked him to have a meeting when he would visit Lahore.
